The Easiest Family Photos on Vacation. Ever.

I love to take photos, just ask my kids.

When we’re on vacation, I’m usually behind the camera which means I have tons of pictures of my kids and Scott but very few of us all together. Two years ago, I discovered Flytographer just before our 20th wedding anniversary trip to Europe. We got the most spectacular pictures of us. I mean, like frame-worthy.

So, when we decided to head to the east coast this summer for photos, I figured why not give them a try stateside?

These Washington, D.C. photos speak for themselves. Our photographer, Elisenda, was just a delight. I had hopes of taking the photos at the Capitol, but with security (and the unpredictability of protesters), we decided to find a safer place to take them. As it turns out, that was right by the Library of Congress! We got the added bonus of the Capitol in the background, great light at the library and plenty of green space around it. The perfect trifecta.

We arrived early in the morning, while the light was still warm and we were thrilled with the outcome. Our session lasted about 40 minutes and we got nearly 40 photos. Flytographer just never disappoints.

You log on to their site, choose your destination city and pick a photographer. It’s emailed to your “photo concierge” who manages all the details for you. YES! Then, you connect with your photographer at the destination location, they shoot all sorts of awesome photos and five days later you get the high res images in your inbox. Easy peasy, y’all.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do. If you want to see them all, click on over here to see the story I wrote for Flytographer. And, if you want to save $25 on your next shoot, use this link and the code “kathrynwhitaker”.

Hooray for having family photos done in July!

    Amazing! How expensive is that?

How amazing! You were on the next block over from where I am/probably was! Hope you enjoyed your trip. Next time you’re in the area, know that y’all have friends in DC who would be happy to help make your trip, and photo dreams, a reality.

Kathryn can you share your code? I already started an inquiry with them, but I think I can use your code still. I’m not sure if the link will work now that I’ve already created an account.
Thanks for posting about this way back – I kept it in my memory in hopes that I would be able to utilize them in the future, and we’re heading to Rome in April. 🙂
If you get a chance, will you email me with it? I think it’s a $50 credit for both of us this month!

Awesome! Thanks so much for such a quick reply! Hopefully they can apply that and make it work. I’ll request Roberta. It should be interesting with 6 kids! HA But, seeing your DC shots is helping me feel confident. I really appreciate it. xoxo
