Who We Are
Howdy and welcome to Team Whitaker, where things are slightly chaotic, a little funny and always entertaining. I am the mom of six – yes, you read that correctly – and wife to one amazing man. My children range in age from teenager to toddler. I grew up in the Texas panhandle and if this blog could talk you would totally hear my twang. Instead, you just have to rely on the stellar writing. My husband and I met on a blind date at Texas A&M. He wanted a sorority t-shirt and I wanted to date a man in uniform. Win-win. I started a freelance graphic design business in Summer 2004 and do work for construction companies, collegiate Catholic campus ministry programs, Catholic elementary/high schools, diocesan offices, religious orders and a bakery (they pay me in cupcakes!). Somehow, I’ve managed to figure out how to work during naptimes, bedtimes and a few random times in between. It’s a sweet gig and I love it.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog is about making mistakes, reaching out for advice (and the occasional Dos Equis at 10am), finding God in the details, planning some parties, organizing your corner of the world and praying I don’t provide too much fodder for the kids’ future therapy sessions. Six children and a whole lot of mistakes have helped me become a better wife and mom and I hope my “How I Do It” (HDYDI) page helps you find your way. I am, unashamedly, Dr Pepper’s #1 fan, a die-hard Aggie, a devout Catholic (converted and confirmed an hour before my rehearsal dinner) and a Pure Barre enthusiast.

Where You Can Find Me
I’m a self-proclaimed social media junkie and a lover of the Insta-story, feel free to give me a follow on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter. Occasionally, I crash my diocesan paper or pop on to “The Jennifer Fulwiler Show” on Sirius XM. It’s also a tremendous honor to be a part of both Blessed is She and Take Up and Read. I wear many hats, but my most favorite is mom.
