This week’s quotes of the week (QOTW):
JP: “Mom, have you ever been to Alberqwe?”
Me: “You mean Albuquerque?”
“These paczki are awesome. Way better than King Kong cake.”
Oh John Paul, life with you is awesome.
Luke, in response to having to go BACK up to the priest for communion after just having been up there for ashes.
Luke: “Why do these ‘jamas have a whole in the bottom?”
Me: “Those really aren’t pajamas. They’re underwear. Big boy underwear has a hole so you can go to the bathroom.”
Luke: “Well, these can’t be underwear, cuz they’re ‘jamas, Mom.”
“I know Dad has known me all my life, but how long have you known me, Mom?”
John Paul, haven’t we been over this?
“Hashtag, stop hashtagging.”
Will, in response to the conversation Scott and I were having in hashtags. Oh, to be a kid in the digital age.

The recorder unit at school is going to be the death of me. I hated them when I was in fifth grade. It’s good to know that hasn’t changed.

If you hadn’t heard, Lent started. I had a few things to say about that and y’all were oh-so-kind. Whatever you’re choosing to do (or not) these next 40ish days, just do it with love. And if you fall off the wagon? There’s always a seat to hop back on.
Basketball season is almost over and you know what that means. FREEDOM! Piggybacking off my Lenten post of loving more, I must say that we are really, really loving this season of no obligations. Will was the only one that had sports during the winter and what a refreshing change of pace. For the first time in forever I feel like we are approaching Lent without running like crazy people to the finish line. Granted, we’re only 48 hours in, but it already feels different.

I’m not the only one who has one million nicknames for her children, right? It seems like we have so many for Gianna. Geegers, Geeger McGeegerson, Sweet G and the ever popular, Gigi. Many of you have asked, and the way we pronounce her real name is Jee-AHN-nuh. No matter what we call her, she’s cute. Just look at those lashes! Oh, and note the hands. Always in the mouth. That’s what cutting FIVE, yes five, teeth will do to you. Poor thing. Many prayers, I’m rockin’ em at all hours.

Speaking of babies and prayers. This one needs yours. I don’t know Lindsay personally, but her family’s story? We lived it. I know that fear of sitting in the NICU wondering what other horrible news the doctors can possibly bring you. It feels like you’re being sucker punched every time you turn around. And it stinks. Lindsay, you keep praying and loving and believing. And, never doubt your mother’s instinct. It is always right.

My best read this week? You really can’t miss reading this one. Every week I think, Pope Francis can’t surprise me this week. He can’t. And then he does. Viva Papa Francisco! And, God bless Archbishop Krajewski. What a beautiful reminder to love. In all circumstances, love.
Oh, and a mighty big thank you to all my Facebook followers. I hit 1K this week and just had to give away a Dr Pepper in celebration. What fun to hear from so many of you. Kelly, thanks for hosting 7QT!
