This week’s quotes of the week (QOTW)?
Clare says “apparently” all the time. It’s absolutely hilarious.
“Man, Luke’s toots can clear a room.”
Why yes, Will, they can. Added bonus of missing half your colon.
“Is she ever going to sleep?”
Scott and I. Y’all. Sleep deprived doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. But, we know it’s just a season with Gianna. I’m hopeful we are nearing the end. BWAHAHAHA.
“How come Gianna gets the cool nursery?”
John Paul, commenting on the RED ASS Aggie nursery we have for Gianna. Pure luck, buddy. And, I promise to share pictures very soon.

Okay, in the true spirit of making these quick, let’s hit some highlights from the past few weeks. I started working out. Again. Honestly, Scott has been my cheerleader all along. He kept telling me to go easy on myself and that we would both hit it hard in 2015. I wish I could share what an inspiration he’s been to me. He’s really changed his eating habits, his workout habits and his approach to leading our house. I do love that man. A friend (hey Rachael!) posted something about Livefitmama on her Facebook page and I was intrigued. It’s been absolutely perfect for this season of jumping back into taking care of myself. The workouts are short (20-30 minutes), self-paced, easy to follow and we have a private FB group to keep us all accountable. So far, I’ve already lost 3/4″ of an inch around the waist. And, man, that feels good. Trust me, I cuss the workouts every morning, but I still do them. Luke keeps me laughing when he says things like, “You look funny, Mom.” I’m quite sure I do, big man.

Last weekend was sublime. Scott was invited to speak at a Catholic conference in Corpus Christi, so my parents graciously watched the big five while we headed to the coast with Gianna. The weather was ick, but the time away was crazy awesome. St. Clare came through and I enjoyed one whole hour of adoration, while holding a nursing/sleeping baby. #thebest Scott and I had uninterrupted conversations, some great meals at our very favorite places in south Texas and time to remember why this marriage gig is worth the effort. In fact, I saw Scott in a new light and came back with a renewed heart. Special thanks to the Diocese of Corpus Christi for inviting us down. Next time, no rain!

‘Tis the season for parties at the Whitaker household. I did a quick inventory last week and realized that we have six birthday parties, one eighth grade graduation and a First Communion, all in the next five months. That’s like, whoa, even for the party-planning maniac that I am. If you love some pretty and don’t mind me babbling about dessert tables, favors, games and cool drink ideas, then you’re in for a treat. <— see what I did there? I’ve already been lighting up Pinterest.

I don’t think I ever shared these adorable photos from Luke’s Christmas play. I know, get out the wooden rule and slap my hand. Forgive the bad grain, but the place was packed and I was at the back so the flash was a no-go. It’s probably better I was back there, you know tears and all. He may have been at least a head (or two!) shorter than the other PKers, but boy does that kid have personality. Proud NICU mom moment. Forgive me.

My sweet and hilarious friend, Bonnie, is hosting her annual Sheenazing awards and voting begins next week. I’ll post the voting link when I have it. They’re “sheenazing” after Ven. Fulton Sheen, the Bishop who I believe will be a saint someday, very soon.

My best read this week? This gem from Susan about parents, sports and the insanity of it all. If you have a kid of sports-playing age, READ IT. If your kids are still little, read it anyway.

And, because I can’t count, you get a number eight this week. If you’re ever looking for lovely, lovely saint cards (or anything saint related), might I brag on Portraits of Saints? I shared my 2015 Board of Directors last week and even hosted a giveaway. If your name is Danielle, then I’m looking at you. This is not a sponsored post at all, I just really adore their work.
Thanks for hosting, Kelly!
