I’m not sure yesterday could’ve been any better.
It was baby shower day! You’ll get more details and my thoughts later this week, but can I just say it sure felt great to be that loved? Because we were already dressed and kids up and going, we opted to head to Saturday night Mass. And, I’m so glad we did. The weather was gorgeous (75 and sunny) and we ran into lots of sweet friends. Those are always the best kinds of Masses, right? The ones where you see and enjoy your faith community? Perhaps that’s why today felt so good.
It was our parish priest’s last Sunday with us before he steps into his new role as Vicar General for our diocese. Scott laughed and said, “I say goodbye to him today and ‘welcome to the office’ on Monday!” The kids did fantastic today – miracle – and I heard all the words. All the readings. All the homily. It probably won’t happen for another 6-12 months so I’ll take it.
Equally important is this: Happy Texas Independence Day! Yes, my sweet Texas is celebrating a birthday. I sure do love her.
