About ten minutes into Mass I started to wonder: is this season of bad behavior ever going to end? Five minutes later I had my answer. No.
I don’t know if it’s the full moon, the location of our pew or just kids, but man. At the end of almost every Mass I am exhausted, mentally and physically. Throwing the kids a bone here, we did have two baptisms, a time/talent/treasure card to fill out and our priest made a huge announcement.
He’s just been assigned the Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for our diocese. In layman’s terms he just became the COO and earned the privilege of performing many of the bishop’s duties. Somebody is about to be very busy. The good news is my husband will get to see him at the office everyday and I’m sure we’ll crash the party from time to time. So, while he’s leaving our parish, he’s never leaving our hearts. We look forward to welcoming our new priest, Fr. Ed, into our parish family (and having him over for dinner). Time to take my own advice.
There was one thing our priest shared in his homily last night that really struck a chord with me. Fortunately, I happened to catch this 30-second snippet. He reminded us that as parents it is our privilege and our honor to accompany our children on their path to adulthood. Accompany. I loved that perspective and I especially loved how he tied it back to Mary and Joseph as they accompanied Christ. What a witness and what a great reminder.
On to the fashion. And, may I just say how much I adore maxi skirts? Where were these five pregnancies ago?! I’m trying my hardest not to buy too many dressy maternity clothes because I’m a jeans kinda gal.
Skirt: noVae Clothing
Shirt: Motherhood Maternity
Jewelry: Ellabead* (necklace), Charming Charlie (earrings), WHBM (bracelet)
Baby bump: 27 weeks
*A note about that necklace, Carmen does great work and does special orders. Found her from an elementary school buddy of mine and I’m so glad I did!
