And you thought you were bad. Does anyone beat my 17-year record for no Advent wreath?!
A couple weeks ago, while the kids were helping put out the Christmas decorations, I decided to get crafty. I think I was just tired of the toilet paper wreath, which we’ve used for years thanks to multiple kids in the same kindergarten class. God bless Mrs. M and Mrs. C. If not for them, there would be no “wreaths” in our house.
I started with a flat foam wreath, wrapped it in some muslin I had leftover from another project and then went to town.
I took the burlap, bunching it every five inches or so and pinning. I did an inside round, two top rounds and an outside round. In total, it took the girls and I about half an hour for that part.
Then, we cleaned the glass candle holders, hot glued them to the wreath and inserted the candles.
Knowing I would forget which candle went with which week, I added a little paper punched week reminder and tied it with some leftover jute I had in the craft drawer.
Voila. ‘Cause I’m fancy like that. Happy second week of Advent!
