Today is my mom’s birthday. As much as I’d love to hug her neck today, she’s on her way to Italy.
Yeah, how jealous (but happy!!) am I? This was my mom and I on Mother’s Day.
You may remember that my parents joined the Catholic Church this Easter. It was an awesome, awesome Easter. Probably my best one yet. A few months ago, I found out my mom and my Aunt Betty would be journeying to Italy in October. That’s when I fainted. It’s also when I tried to find out if it was legal to travel to Europe in someone else’s suitcase.
Scott and I have been on pilgrimage to Italy three times and I can say, with certainty, that a lifetime is not long enough to enjoy that beautiful place.
The food. The people. The architecture. The history. The faith. The everything. I love it all. And this week my mom and my aunt get to experience it. I can’t think of a better way to spend your birthday, mom, than going to the greatest place God created. Have an awesome time and please Mom, for the love of all that’s holy, don’t forget to take pictures!! Oh, and if you can get a few things blessed by Papa Francis, I’ll hug your neck.
Happy birthday to the greatest lady I know – my mamacita!
