Today, my 7 quick takes with Jen really are going to be quick. Eight million things to do and so little time…

This week’s QOTW (quotes of qotw):
“Mom, don’t get cocky. When you get cocky, you get burned.”
Will, on my smack talk about the A&M vs. Bama game next weekend. The kid is right, but I have I hard time keeping the chirping to myself.
“Did you even have radios in your car when you were a kid?”
Will. Come on, kid, I’m not even 40 yet!
“How do you stay ‘stop’ in dog language?”
John Paul, it’s STOP.
“I not did it.”
Luke, oh, I’m pretty sure you did.
When I got that email from The TomKat Studio, it completely made my day. Kim and her staff featured Clare’s rainbow party. TomKat has such awesome party resources; I always find great inspiration from her. She reminds me that the love is in the details.

Jennifer Fulwiler, you are in trouble. The Mr. and I are now addicted to Breaking Bad. Thanks a lot Netflix. And, Jennifer. I have the same recurring nightmares she does that the Dominican Sisters will read this and think, ‘Oh dear, it’s time to put Kathryn at the top of the prayer list.’ Don’t leave me Sisters! I’ll admit, the first two episodes almost made me a non-believer. But, we’re in the middle of season two and I’m fascinated by the struggle between morality and sin. After 24, Scott said no more shows for a while and then we discovered BB. I’m sure we’ll finish it just in time to start up the new season of Downton Abbey.

Aggie football. How sweet it is. Not that you’ve been dying to know my take, but I’m so over all the Johnny Football drama. It’s just time to play some d#mn football. Like him or not, he’s fascinating to watch and it’s his swagger that wins games. We have a true gem in Coach Sumlin and I think he is awesome. We’re heading to College Station for the game this weekend and I cannot wait!

Earlier this week, I blogged about one of our must fun outings as a family this summer. If you live in Austin, this must be on your to-do list.

Just when you think you’re full up on pediatric specialists, we go and get ourselves another one. More on all that Luke crazy later, but it looks like an endocrinologist is next on the list. To quote Clare, “oh, come on.”

Speaking of Master Luke, he started school this week. Like a boss! I shed some tears, but he did not. We hardly got a kiss and hug before he beelined for the cars. I’ll share some more thoughts on that next week, but it was a little easier than last year. A little. He’s so happy, it’s hard to be anything but proud.

Speaking of big man Luke, it’s time for me to start planning his little man birthday party! The party is next Friday and several of you have asked “how I do it,” plan these fun family celebrations. Next week will be one big HDYDI. I’ll be sharing how I plan, and prepare, for a whole bucket of fun. You’ll get my day-to-day take and I’d love your input and your ideas. So far, my Pinterest board is getting a workout.
Go make it a great weekend, y’all!
