This dress has been in my closet for darn near six+ years. I wore it at Clare’s baptism and it has been a favorite of mine for a long time. It’s one of those dresses that never wrinkles, is fully lined and looks awesome with or without a cardigan. When I want to feel pretty, this is the dress I wear.
And, considering the week we have ahead of us, I decided it was time. Our youngest, Luke, is undergoing brain surgery to close his encephalocele (don’t Google it, trust me). Next week I’ll likely be sporting some awesome yoga pants as I pace the halls of Dell Children’s. It’ll be oh-so-fancy.
You’ll get your usual, pre-op post from me. It’s usually the one that comes with a simultaneous “Kleenex and don’t be drinking anything” warning. Until then, I’m going to soak up the last bit of normal before crazy hits. The 5-6 hour surgery is scheduled for the morning of July 31, so any spare prayers you have, we’ll take ’em.
