This week’s QOTW:
“May is kicking my ***.”
Said the mom of the house. If I make it in one piece to the last day of school next week, it could be used as the extra miracle for Bl. John Paul II’s canonization.
Me: “Luke, you’re just about the cutest kid ever.”
“Oh, this is ‘diculous.”
Luke, wonder who he’s been listening to…oops.
“Hot potato, hot potato, you are the hot potato.”
Anna-Laura, helping all school-aged hand clap games make a comeback.
“My birfday in ‘tember?”
Luke, somebody’s ready to be in the limelight.
The kids playing upstairs:
John Paul to ALG: “What’s your name?”
John Paul to Clare: “What’s your name?”
John Paul: “Ok, so y’all are identical twins.”
“But he looks so healthy.”
Said by one-million people about Luke when I tell them he’s having brain surgery this summer. Many of his challenges fly under the radar. Sometimes it’s hard to really capture in a minute, or less, conversation about the mountains he’s climbed and the ones he still has left to conquer.

We celebrated Anna-Laura’s eighth birthday last week and man, it was super fun. Here’s proof of the hootin’ good time.

Baseball. Is. Over. With 25 games and double that in practices, we were ready. It was a great season, though. Our coaches really went above and beyond and playing with good friends made it even better. Scott’s mom took this photo last week and I L-O-V-E it! Yes, John Paul is the resident southpaw of the house. His team won a thriller in the quarter finals where he took a ball to the bicep and then came back and cracked one in the outfield. Proud parenting moment. They lost in the semi-final game, but had a fantastic season.

I have a super fun giveaway coming next week. It came in the mail and I may have squealed. Yes, it’s that fun and yes you’ll want to visit the blog next Wednesday for all that goodness.

Clare was our pretty dancing queen last week. Yes, I realize I’m about a week behind on all the posts I owe y’all and the kids. Coming. They’re coming!

Luke’s last day of school was Tuesday. I posted over on Facebook how my emotions caught me completely off guard. That’s definitely a bigger blog post next week. I find that when I blog, I reflect, and that day deserves reflecting.

You may have heard me talk before about a non-profit, Hand to Hold, that helped us tremendously during (and after) Luke’s NICU stay. I’m proud to say my husband is now the Board President, they are so lucky to have him. He is passionate, well spoken and a huge champion for Hand to Hold. You might even see his cute face in this video. If you, or someone you know, has endured a NICU stay, please pass this video along. You really aren’t alone.
As always, my thanks to Jen at Conversion Diary for hosting 7 Quick Takes!
