Every year, just as we walk in the church for Palm Sunday, I’m reminded why this feels like the longest Mass of the year.
Palms! Kids! Sword fighting!
Yes, the Mass is touching and meaningful and I love its significance. But, with five kids under 11 the palms are a killer. We had them all collected and put away before we ever hit the opening hymn. Ah, such is life. Someday my kids will quietly sit with their palms, crafting crosses with them and I will chuckle as I remember these days. All in all, I’m giving everyone an A- on Mass behavior today.
Karma did come back to bite me. Last week I bragged about our 80-degree weather. This morning, it was 40 with 30mph winds. I hope that brings some of you who have snow on the ground some comfort. The red I had planned for today got scrapped for a much warmer outfit. I sure wish I had worn my boots, but I was trying to change things up a bit. You’ve seen the shirt and flowy cardi thing together before, but I added my scoop-neck tee and fancy heels. If it had been about 20-degrees warmer that would’ve been a smart choice. Today, notsomuch.

For the first time EVER, I get to attend the Chrism Mass for our Diocese on Tuesday. I’ve heard it’s a beautiful Mass and to experience it with my sweet husband and no kids will make it such a rare treat. Holy Week is here and I am excited.
I’m taking off from blogging, but I do have two guests posts appearing over at 3 Things for Mom and Austin Catholic New Media this week. I’ll just pop in to share the links. Otherwise, I’ll see you next Sunday for EASTER!
Thanks to the sweet gals at FLAP for hosting.
