What a week. We were off for spring break, so I took the opportunity to unplug from the blog. But, thank goodness I did not give up social media for Lent. Oh my stars. Was Wednesday fabulous or what? Every time I think about our new Pope I am in awe of what the Holy Spirit can do when we get out of the way and let Him. Our Cardinals were covered in prayer and they chose so beautifully. A Pope who cherishes the poor, embraces humility, has a devotion to Our Lady AND has a sense of humor? Yes, please. You’ll hear more from me in the coming weeks about my take on Pope Francis. But so far, me likey.
I wasn’t feeling my usual 100% self this morning and then I remembered that the outfit I originally chose didn’t have a lick of green in it. Arg. This one wasn’t one of my finer fashion statements, but the 80-degree weather did brighten my mood a bit. That, and the fact we got a solid B+ across the board from the kids was an added bonus. You’ve seen the jacket before and I love those shoes. So, at least I had those going for me. I made the bracelet several years ago when I was on my jewelry making kick. It features St. Elizabeth of Hungary (our former parish) and some funky beads. We enjoyed a really great lunch with friends at their home after Mass and it made for a nice afternoon. Re-entry to the real world – school, exercise and work – starts tomorrow morning at 0530. Yee haw.
Jacket & Skirt: Talbots
Jewelry: Earrings (Silpada), Bracelet (yours truly)
It should be pointed out that I know God has a sense of humor. Who gives a brunette, brown-eyed girl such pale skin? Sorry for not posting a “wear your sunglasses” warning.
Pray for me this evening. I’m heading to the church youth group to chat with high school girls about modesty and dressing your best for Mass. Should be fun!
As always, thanks the sweet gals at FLAP for hosting. If you want more fashion, click on over.
