This weekend we began spring break. Praise THA Lord! We enjoyed some time with friends this weekend and I got to be Dorian Speed‘s +1 at a SXSW Copyblogger party (she was even brave enough to stay at our house!) I must say, being in a room full of people that respect bloggers was an out of body experience for me. Very cool. Well, except for that strange guy hanging out near the bathrooms and the cra-cra people at the metro stop. Next time you see me in person, remind me to tell you some super funny stories.
Because of the time change and a super late night, we decided to head to the late Mass tonight. Technically, this is “What I Will Be Wearing Sunday.” You’ve seen that skirt and jewelry before, but I decided to rock the cowboy boots in honor of SXSW. Yes, it’s the perk/not-perk of living in Austin. And, I’m even debuting my MOST favorite belt of all time. I call it my $2,000 Italian souvenir. It cost me 20 bucks in Florence, Italy, but $1,800 in travel expenses to get there. That baby has been with me nearly 13 years and I wear it at least once (or more) a week. The cowboy boots have been a resident at our house for more than 20 years. Love ’em.

I have loved Lent so far. My “no unnecessary shopping” venture has been way more successful than I imagined. Not only is there more money in the bank account, but I’ve really started thinking about how we save and spend our money. I’m not writing off all trips to Target or the Container Store in my future, but I am looking forward to a post-Lent shopping experience where I’m more purposeful about our finances.
If you missed it, I had a blast chatting about First Communion this week – everything from preparing your heart, to choosing clothes, to finding the perfect gift. All the giveaways are still going on, a lovely veil from Dainties by Denise, a rosary from Trendy Traditions and a First Communion bowl from Clarey Clayworks. Make it a great weekend y’all!
To the sweet gals at FLAP, thanks for hosting!
