What I Wore Sunday: Vol. 17 & Electing the Pope!

by Kathryn on March 3, 2013

Wow, what a week, right? My heart is becoming less sad that our Holy Father has retired and more excited and hopeful about what the Holy Spirit has in store for the church. I mean, really, what better time is there to elect a Pope than Lent? Easter will be such a celebration. If you haven’t heard about it already, a buddy of mine, Dorian Speed, launched a website dedicated to the election of a pope. Brilliant, I know. You can submit questions and about 30 or so of us contributors work to answer them. I’m enjoying answering the questions. My two favorites so far?

Can you apply for the job of Pope? - and - How does the Pope get his name? (answered by yours truly) As a convert this was my very first question about the Pope. I’m sort of embarrassed about my first answer. Oh well, live and learn.

On to fashion. This is the dress I was supposed to wear last week. Good thing I held off because I ended up lectoring and I always like to wear a dress when I’m a reader. You’ve seen the boots and bracelet before. I put up a photo of me in a coat just to prove that it actually does get chilly in central Texas in the “winter.” It was 55 at Mass time. Brrr. Sorry, now I’m just rubbing it in, aren’t I?

What a fantastic contrast and pattern on that dress! I don’t have any kids receiving First Communion yet but I am sure I will be pretty emotional when that day comes quickly!

Such a pretty dress! And yes, you are rubbing it in. I only wear that thick of a coat if it’s under 40 outside now. My nephew got his First Communion last year, but I’m still interested in your series! I got a fantastic video of him trying to swallow the host down really quickly before he took the cup (he even held up his finger as to tell the EM to “hold on a second”). It was adorable, and I didn’t even leave my seat, I promise.
