What I Wore Sunday: Vol. 11

by Kathryn on January 13, 2013

Truth be told, this should really be named, “What I Will Wear Sunday.” My son is serving at the late Mass tonight but we have a crazy, busy afternoon. And, I *may* have worn this same outfit yesterday to my daughter’s First Reconciliation. I mean, if it’s already out, why make it difficult on yourself, right?

I’ll be chatting more about her First Reconciliation later this week, but wow, what a morning. It’s grace-filled moments like those that remind me why I converted to Catholicism. It takes its sacraments seriously.

On to the fashion. I should really dedicate this outfit to Deme and her insight on making one outfit work for all seasons. This skirt is a summer one, I wore it to First Communion last spring (I’m seeing a Sacrament theme, here). I never thought to pair it with a wintery shirt and boots to make it work for winter. Reason #1,578 why I love this link-up. You girls make me think bigger. For some reason, I thought some designated Mass fashionista would pull me aside and ticket me for wearing a summer skirt in January.

Just before snapping this picture I asked my husband if I could try a new pose. His reply? “Kathryn, it is too dang cold this morning to be trying new things. Stand there and smile. I’m freezing.” Alrighty then. Next week I’m sure it will be back in the 90s and I can be creative.

If you haven’t already, I’m giving away an awesome ebook, “Say No to Auto,” that shows you how to ditch the auto setting on your DSLR and go manual. It is supremely awesome and the giveaway ends tomorrow at midnight. You know, if pictures are your thang, this might be for you.

As always, for great fashion inspiration, you can find some nuggets over at Fine Linen & Purple.

I wonder what “freezing” is over in your neck of the woods? ;-) I love that skirt- would’ve never looked at it and said “springtime” b/c you styled it so nicely!

HA. It was in the 40s today with a pretty brisk wind. In TX that’s “freezing.”

Eek…freezing? There was no possible way I would go outside today without a jacket on for even a second! Not that I’m the fashion police, but I would not have pulled you over for that outfit, it is wonderful and that skirt is fantastic! Hooray for Charming Charlies – I could go nuts in that store!

Hahahha, I love your husband’s comment. I also love the way you paired up the skirt, I would have never guess it was your “spring” skirt!

Your outfit is stunning. I love the skirt with the bold color statement. Add the boots and it’s totally a winter outfit. Beautiful!
