The fourth Sunday of Advent is HERE! Fire up. I’m guest blogging over at Bonnie Engstrom’s blog, A Knotted Life, about our Christmas Eve family traditions. You know me, I love a party and I share the details about my most favorite one of the year. Bonnie, even participates in WIWS Sunday this week. Woo hoo!
This was one of those Sundays when I was really glad I laid out my clothes the day before. Last night, we hosted some friends for a little laid back Christmas get together – 5 families, 10 adults, 16 kids (12 and under) and a whole lotta laughing. To say we were moving slow this morning was quite the understatement.
I had to throw out the whole “dressing for the liturgical seasons” since I wore my one piece of purple two weeks ago. But, it was finally chilly enough to wear my most favorite sweater OF ALL TIME. It covers the behind, has ruffles and falls in just the right places. Best $40 I ever spent.
The outfit:
Sweater: White House Black Market (their super awesome sale starts tomorrow, just in case you’re wondering)
Turtleneck: noVae Clothing
Maxi Skirt: noVae Clothing
Boots: Ecco from Dillard’s
Jewelry: Necklace (13th wedding anniversary present from the Mr.) and Earrings from Charming Charlie’s
May your Christmas season be merry and bright! I have one last post of the year, part of my “how do you do it” series coming up tomorrow and then I’ll be back January 6.
As always, danke to the fine ladies at Fine Linen and Purple for hosting.

Here at Team Whitaker, I blog about life as it happens: big families, carpool, Catholicism,Texas Aggies, prematurity, DIY/organizing projects, sanity checks and the occasional glass of wine at 10am. You get real Kathryn. Unedited, honest and hopefully funny. Motherhood and our faith lives are a journey, join me.

Wow I am a huge fan of your skirt! The colors are awesome. I love how once you threw out your purple, I actually threw mine on. Haha. May your Christmas be merry & bright as well, Kathryn! Can’t wait to see your post for tmrw.
Great colors and I am going to have to check out that store for the skirt! Awesome!! You look lovely as always!!
That skirt is HOOOTTT! I’ve always been a huge fan of turquoise jewelry, too.
Thanks for the tip on WH/BW’s sale! They have beautiful stuff, but it’s so expensive. I love your necklace!
I love your outfit colors! That maxi skirt is so great & the necklace is beautiful.
Your skirt is to die for, such great colors and the accessories just make it that much better! Charming Charlies is one my favorite places to shop!
I would steal this outfit if a number of barriers were removed (first being that pesky commandment prohibiting stuff like that).
This outfit is awesome. I love the turquoise/black combo, the stripes, the sweater, everything.
Wow! I love that skirt! And clearly you’re beautifully tall to pull it off! I’d probably look like a midget.
I really, really, really love cardigans and that one is FABULOUS. Oh my gosh. Gorgeous!
Thank you for my new addiction, noVae clothing

YOU LOOK MAH-VA-LOUS, as usual! (Are you sure you’re the mother of five?)
God bless!
