Have I really not shared an update about Luke since surgery? Oh, sweet readers, please forgive me.
Sometimes, posts get written in my brain (they’re quite good, actually). And then one day I look up, scan the archives or look through my digital photos and realize that my brain, once again, did not communicate with my hands. Happens all the time.
Briefly, I will tell you that Luke is doing beautifully. He’s 100%, plus some, if that’s possible. We’ve noticed a bit of a weight gain (about 11 ounces) since surgery. To put that into perspective, he hasn’t gained 11 ounces in the past six months. So, yeah, that’s kind of a big deal. He seems to be eating a bit more, running more (who knew?) and just generally funnier.
I’m quite certain the humor came from added anesthesia and a few doses of versad. Man, those meds are good stuff. Next time, I’m working on a triple. One for him, two for mom.
Tomorrow, I’ll share our experience in the hopes that it will help another PDA heart mom. I’ll also do it for the record books. Surgery number six is history, baby!
