Back in the saddle…almost

Well folks, our guest blogger has officially handed the reins back to yours truly. He was great, wasn’t he? I’ll have to do that more often.

We are settling back into “the Texas way” and the assimilation is nearly complete. Burgers upon arrival at JFK airport, Chuy’s for lunch today and a happy hour Sonic run this afternoon. Yes, we’re almost 100%. Except for those piles of laundry sitting on the floor.

France was more than we hoped for and better than we dreamed. This week, we’ll give you a glimpse of that amazing week abroad. I would be quite remiss without thanking seven very special people: Aunt Jefiner (as John Paul says), Uncle Cory, Granny, Uncle Daniel, Aunt Amanda, Nana and Papa. I raise a glass to each of you. You gave us the best present ever – a week alone to enjoy one another’s company, eat some hot meals, hold hands and fall in love all over again. Thank you, Merci, Grazie. We love each and every one of you for the week you gave us. I don’t know that you’ll ever understand just how big our hearts of gratitude are for that gift.

So, tune in to tomorrow as we share crazy flight stories, driving a manual with an Brit navigation system named “Jane”, our chance meeting with a very special priest and a night on the Mont.

We’re glad you guys made it safe and sound. We had a blast here in Austin with the girls and we are quite thankful for the Dallas/Bowie “Whikaters” (as JP would say). The volume level at Casa Whitaker went through the roof Sunday night when all the kiddos were back together.

I’m sure the sentiment is the same all around – We don’t know how you do it and are in awe of what you do everyday Kathryn!… and Scott 😉

Love you guys. Can’t wait to hear all the stories!

    – Ah Ma
(that’s what the girls called me – at times we couldn’t tell if it was Nana or Aunt Amanda)

We had such a great time keeping the boys. They were actually a big help at keeping Alex occupied. We are glad that we are back in TX and able to spend more time with the kids. Can’t wait to hear more about the trip
