Nursing Clare, that is. I’m sad. Sad because I don’t know if she’s my last. Sad because now her nutrients come from HEB and Central Market. It’s just hard to think about closing that door, you know. I’m a crazy person. Do I need counseling? Wouldn’t most women be doing jumping jacks because they got their body back? I love nursing more than I can explain and I’m thankful for the 13 months – even though they went by way too quickly.

Clare Bear you’re growing up too fast. Stop it!

Clare is really cute! I was right there with you about a month ago. I even cut Kayla off for a week, had regrets and tried to restart nursing. But at that point milk was pretty much gone, and she had other things to do. So we are done. I feel like some of “my time” with her has been lost… I guess it’s just been realotted…

I linked to your site from Alexis’ blog, and this post makes me sad too! My daughter’s only 3-1/2 months old (and she’s my first), but thinking about the last time I’ll ever breastfeed her… they really do just grow too fast.

You have a beautiful family – thanks for sharing (and for giving Alexis your pump!)

Amanda, no rush. What’s mine is yours.

Shelley, your comment cracked me up. I had regrets and tried again today…Clare was like, “Um, no thank you Mom!!”

Amber, oh what I would give to go back one day with my first. It’s sweet time, I tell ya. Nice to meet you via the blog and glad to know Alexis has a growing fan club 🙂

I was pumping as I was reading your blog! Oh, goodness, I fear the last time I breastfeed Lauryn. With Lucas I couldn’t wait to be done, but with Lauryn it is different. Like you, I’m not sure if she will be my last, so it will be a bittersweet moment.

    Kath-
I stopped with Christian right around 13 months, too, and it was sad. Just yesterday I was mentioning that that was just about 7 weeks ago and it feels like a lifetime already. I LOVED nursing him and found it such a precious time. I AGREE! Maybe we’ll both get to do it again soon :).
